Way to a Calm Afternoon

Walking along the boulevard in a placid afternoon while waiting for the tranquil sunset could bring you a feeling of warm easiness from the cacophonic streams of the world around. The Dipolog City Boulevard is a place for people to exercise early in the morning, to walk their dogs, to sit on the concrete, painted benches and to relax from their everyday encounter with stress. There are many young couples that make the boulevard their dating place, as well as they are fond of witnessing the dramatic scene of the sunset that portrays a blissful story of the day’s end.

The Dipolog City Boulevard extends for about three kilometers, starting from the shore lines of Sta. Cruz, Central Barangay reaching to the Galas Feeder Port. It is like a very long horizontal concrete road that has four divisions. The first part is about one meter wide and is elevated at about 8 inches from the middle part, this has no protection barriers, and so if someone is not careful enough, he might eventually fall down into the sea. This is the one that touches the sea with its seawalls during high tides; during low tides, the seawalls only touch the sands of the shore. The second part is a road for the people to stroll into, it is elevated for about eight inches from the middle part and is about three meters wide; the benches are lined up two meters apart from each other at the edge of the second part; each bench has one lamp post beside it, while the coconut trees are planted three meters apart at the center of the way, which makes them face the benches. The middle part of the road is where the vehicles pass by; at every edge of this part are street lights. This is about three and one-half meters wide and has pedestrian lines on it. The fourth part is the widest of all; it is about four to five meters wide. This is an area for vendors and tenants who sell food, especially barbecue and drinks. Some also sells souvenir items. This area is divided into blocks that are about four meters wide and six to seven meters long; in between the blocks are roads that will lead the visitors to the city proper, making their exits from the boulevard. The first block has comfort rooms for men and women and as well as orchid vendors, since Dipolog City is labeled as the Orchid City. The second block has a multi-purpose stage and steel bleachers that caters any activities that the city government will hold. The third block is for small eateries and the rest of the blocks is still vacant and were planted with grasses and seedlings. The second phase of the boulevard is still under construction and everybody is anticipating its full completion soon.

Twist Of Reality

It came to me like a splash of a wave. This is another manifestation of change. It’s just like transferring from one classroom to another. Eventually, it did bring me an aura of adjustment. Learning is a task in human life that needs to be characterized by enjoyment and it should not mainly be characterized by pressure and induced themes of stereotype knowledge. It would always matter to me that I take pleasure in what I’m doing for school rather than resent for it. Blogging is a task that I haven’t done previously. This has enabled me to broaden my horizons of learning rather than limiting it at one hand. Doing this task seems like transferring to a virtual classroom where everybody is capable with interacting; it’s like letting loose of your whole reservoir of latent thoughts to the heeding world.

The schedule for our English 2 class illustrates boredom. The reason for this is the time; it starts at one-thirty to three o’clock in the afternoon, which only implies that people are commonly fond of sleeping and there is a great tendency that they’ll just eventually fall asleep amidst the discussion. This is also a problem that persists through most students. Our new professor, Ma’am Lynnie Ann Deocampo told us such thing. When she discussed about the term paper, it awakened me. This is one thing that made me interested in English 2. While most students have developed a fear for it at the same time I am getting excited about it. I could never deny the fact that it would require time, enough dedication and hard work from a student, as well as it needs capacity for it to be finished in due time. But looking at the brighter side, it would let us explore what we can do in times of pressure. It tests our ability to go beyond what we presently know of. To sum it all up, it just simply means challenge. A challenge that would let us know how resilient we can be, how much are we able to spend time just so we can surpass the impediments of this course and let us inherit the skills for our future major requirements. It also lets us view procrastination as a killer of time.

Although I have a partial view of how can this be done, I still can’t assure myself that it would be a smooth-sailing task for me. Yet it is my utmost desire to make this as a satisfying work for me, inorder that I can improve my ability to partake in my chosen field which is Psychology. I am looking forward towards presenting substantial data for my future final paper, and merely hope that it would be a successful one for me.
